Prague

The Chopin Hotel Prague is located in the heart of Prague and all places of interest are within walking distance. The following places, which are without doubt worth a visit, are in our neighbourhood:

Wenceslas Square
The Wenceslas Square is the most prominent square in Prague and is considered to be the very centre of the city. It is 750 m long and 60 m wide. The square was founded at the same time as the New Town (1348) and makes up its central area. In the past it was used mainly as a horse market.

Jubelee Synagog
The Jubilee Synagogue is also known as the Jerusalem Synagogue because of its location on Jerusalem Street. It was designed by Wilhelm Stiassny and built in 1906. It was just recently renovated and still serves religious purposes.

Jindrisska Tower
The Jindrisska Tower (Jindrisska Vez) in Prague dates from the late Gothic era. It was constructed between 1472 and 1476 and has had frequently rebuilt and altered since. Following a major fire in 1745, Jindrisska was rebuilt in baroque style. It is the highest separate belfry in Prague with a height of 66 m.

The National Museum in Prague, founded in 1818, is the biggest museum in the Czech Republic. As  the most significant national museum of the country, it assembles important collections and fulfills scientific, educational and methodical functions.
